Tuition Payment Plans
Overview
A tuition payment plan allows students to spread out their portion of tuition and fees across three (3) monthly installments. Students wanting to use this service in any quarter must enroll in the tuition payment plan for that quarter and pay a $30.00 non-refundable fee. Installment due dates are established by the college and cannot be changed regardless of when the student enrolls in the tuition payment plan.
FAQs
Below are some frequently asked questions (FAQs) about tuition payment plans.Who needs a tuition payment plan?
There are typically two types of students who may want to take advantage of the tuition payment plan:
- Those students paying 100% out of their own pocket
- Those students who are waiting for their Aid to finish processing
1) PAYING 100% OUT OF POCKET
The tuition payment plan allows students to make make three (3) monthly payments.
The due dates are established by the college and cannot be changed regardless of when the student enrolls in the tuition payment plan. The sooner the student enrolls in the plan, the longer they have to make payments
towards those three monthly installments.
2) WAITING FOR FINANCIAL AID
Aid takes time to process and may not be ready for a number of reasons. Regardless of those reasons, if Aid is not ready the student risks being administratively dropped from their classes
due to non-payment. If the student cannot pay in full or their Aid is not ready, they may want to consider enrolling in the tuition payment
plan.
A MESSAGE FROM SVC FINANCIAL AID
It is a student’s responsibility to know the status of their Financial Aid each quarter.
SVC Financial Aid strongly encourages all Financial Aid students to check with the SVC Financial Aid Office prior to the start of each quarter to ensure all funding is in place. The positive service indicator (hold) on your account does not mean you have been Awarded or your Financial Aid File is complete. There may be outstanding requests for required information before you can be Awarded. Example: If you are enrolled in less than 12 credits, you will need to submit an Enrollment Revision Form to have your Aid prorated before it can be disbursed.
Contact the SVC Financial Aid Office with any questions about Aid.
Do I need a tuition payment plan if I am expecting Aid?
Check your ctcLink account – do you have a positive service indicator (hold) that reads “Tuition Deferred – Possible FA”?
- If no: you either need to pay in full or enroll in the tuition payment plan + make payments (ex: enrollment fee, 1st installment…).
-
If yes: you might need one depending on how much Aid you are going to receive. Ask yourself:
Is my Aid more than my tuition and fee charges?
-
Yes, my Aid is more than my tuition and fees:
- Great – you do not need a tuition payment plan as long as the SVC Financial Aid Office has placed a positive service indicator (hold) on your account. That hold is “Tuition Deferred – Possible FA.”
-
No, my Aid will not be more than my tuition and fees:
- You either need to pay in full (less the amount of expected Aid) or enroll in the tuition payment plan + make payments (ex: enrollment fee, 1st installment…).
-
Yes, my Aid is more than my tuition and fees:
NOTE:
- If the 2nd installment is due before your Aid is finished processing, you are responsible for paying that 2nd installment on time.
- If the 3rd installment is due before your Aid is finished processing, you are responsible for paying that 3rd installment on time.
- SVC’s goal is that your account balance is zero. If your Aid posts after you’ve made out of pocket payments you may be eligible for a refund. You can learn more about refunds on the Student Financial Accounts website.
