Backdoor Bakery


The Backdoor Bakery is a student-run bakery for the Culinary Arts program at Skagit Valley College. Students produce a wide range of scratch-made breads, cakes, cookies, tarts, and chocolates.

Location: Next to the Culinary Garden, across from the Norwood Cole Library.
Hours: 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Tues. – Thurs. | April 9 – June 6

 

Cardinal Café


Cardinal Café is a student-run restaurant for the Culinary Arts program at Skagit Valley College. The menu showcases students’ talents and abilities as part of their capstone projects.

Location: Behind the cafeteria in the Cardinal Center. Enter through the Cardinal Center or from the outdoor entrance across from the DuVall Pavilion.
Hours: 11:30 a.m. – 1: 30 p.m. | Tues. – Thurs. | April 23 – June 6

  • Chicken Suya ($5)
    Kebabs, kachumnari, and peanut sauce.
  • Ceviche ($7)
    Shrimp, scallops, rockfish, avocado, crema, and tostones.
  • Raviolo al Ouvo ($5)
    Parmesan ricotta, egg yolk, brown butter, garlic confit, and sage.

Lighter Fare

    Steak, picked daikon, carrot, spinach, chives, eggs, and sweet chili sauce.

    With goat cheese and pistachio-cherry vinaigrette.

    Chicken, golden hominy, potatoes, pasilla-tomatillo broth, and garnishes.

    Flat. iron steak, french fries, steak sauce, and carmelized onions.
  • Chicken-Chorizo Mole ($15)
    Sweet potato tamal, queso fresco, pickled onions, and cinnamon crema.
  • Pork Vindaloo ($14)
    Basmati rice, cucumber raita, and naan.
  • Korean Fried Chicken ($15)
    Pear kimchi, hot honey, and mung bean pancake.
  • Spring Vegetable Tikka Massala ($13)
    Basmati rice, paneer, cilantro, and naan.
  • Salmon Burger ($15)
    Nerka Salmon, brioche, tartar, butter lettuce, pickled lemons, and fries.

Mobile Food Lab


Skagit Valley College’s Mobile Food Lab is run by students in the Culinary Arts program. Students gain hands-on experience and culinary skills in a mobile food truck setting.

Location: Parked by Blackburn Pickleball Pavilion.
Hours: Wed. 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Thurs. 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. | April 10 – June 6

Note: Must speak with a Food Truck employee to place an order. Messages left at this phone number will not be listened to.

    Two 2-oz patties, cheddar, lettuce, ketchup, aji, and onions on brioche. Add avocado $1.

    Mozzarella, avocado, aji, salsa criolla, and lettuce on brioche.
