English for Speakers of Other Languages

ESOL classes are for refugees, immigrants (undocumented or documented), or U.S. citizens wanting to improve their English skills. These skills also prepare students to pursue a high school diploma, college certificate or degree programs, and/or employment.

Fall classes start September 22, 2026

New English Learner students can register for fall classes by attending one of these sessions:
Each session will last approximately 3 hours. 


Wednesday, September 2nd - starts at 6:30pm, Lewis Hall 209, Mount Vernon Campus

Thursday, September 3rd - starts at 9:30am, Lewis Hall 209, Mount Vernon Campus

Wednesday, September 9th - starts at 9:30am, Lewis Hall 209, Mount Vernon Campus

Tuesday, September 10th - starts at 6:30pm, Lewis Hall 209, Mount Vernon Campus

Thursday, September 10th - starts at 2pm, Oak Hall 223, Oak Harbor Campus
Thursday, September 10th - starts at 6pm, Oak Hall 223, Oak Harbor Campus

Who is Eligible?


  • Individuals 16 years old and older

  • Individuals with a student or au pair visa (F1, M1, or J1) should contact International Programs for information on class options.


What is the cost?


Tuition is $25 per quarter. Students may take more than one ELA class at no extra cost. A tuition waiver is available for those who qualify.
