English for Speakers of Other Languages

ESOL classes are for refugees, immigrants (undocumented or documented), or U.S. citizens wanting to improve their English skills. These skills also prepare students to pursue a high school diploma, college certificate or degree programs, and/or employment.

Spring classes start April 7, 2026

New English Learner students can register for classes by attending one of these sessions:
Each session will last approximately 3 hours. 


Thursday, March12th - starts at 6:30pm, Lewis Hall 209, Mount Vernon Campus

Tuesday, March 17th - starts at 6:30pm, Lewis Hall 209, Mount Vernon Campus

Wednesday, March 18th - starts at 9:30am, Lewis Hall 209, Mount Vernon Campus

Tuesday, March 24th - starts at 9:30am, Lewis Hall 209, Mount Vernon Campus



Tuesday, March 17th - start at 2pm or 6pm, Whidbey Island Campus- Oak Harbor

Who is Eligible?


  • Individuals 16 years old and older

  • Individuals with a student or au pair visa (F1, M1, or J1) should contact International Programs for information on class options.


What is the cost?


Tuition is $25 per quarter. Students may take more than one ELA class at no extra cost. A tuition waiver is available for those who qualify.
