Classes are offered in the following formats:

  • In-Person: All class instruction occurs in-person during scheduled class meetings. Canvas may be used as a support tool, such as for submitting work or checking grades.
  • In-Person (Web Enhanced): All class instruction occurs in-person during scheduled class meetings. Online tools may be used for instruction, such as Canvas or WAMAP.
  • Hybrid: Class instruction includes both online and in-person. The class meets at least once a week in-person.
  • Flexible: Also referred to as "hyflex", class instruction occurs simultaneously online and in-person. Students choose to participate in scheduled class meetings either in-person or online, and can change the way they participate throughout the term.
  • Online Asynchronous: All class instruction occurs online and does not require attending any in-person or virtual class meetings.
  • Online Asynchronous with In-Person: All class instruction occurs online and requires attending in-person class meetings, such as for exams. The number of in-person meetings will not be more than the number of credits for the course. For example, a three-credit course would not have more than three in-person meetings.
  • Online Scheduled: All class instruction occurs online and requires attending virtual class meetings.
  • Online Scheduled with In-Person: All class instruction occurs online and requires attending regularly scheduled virtual class meetings and in-person class meetings, such as for exams. • Individualized Instruction (Formerly Other): Instruction delivered through individualized learning experiences tailored to a student's specific learning objectives, often involving internships, cooperative education, practicums, capstone projects, independent study, or other supervised applied learning activities.
