Dr. Thomas Keegan

Interim President of Skagit Valley College

Dr. Thomas “Tom” Keegan has returned to Skagit Valley College as Interim President through Dec. 31. He previously served as President of Skagit Valley College from March 2012 until his retirement in 2022. Prior to joining SVC, he was President of Peninsula College for 11 years and has more than 43 years of experience in Washington’s community and technical college system.

Throughout his career, Dr. Keegan has held numerous leadership roles supporting education, workforce development, and regional economic growth. He has served on the Northwest Workforce Development Council, the Administrative Council of the Northwest Career and Technical Academy, and the Washington Association of Community and Technical College (WACTC) Presidents. He also served as Chair of the Economic Development Alliance of Skagit County (EDASC) Board of Directors and completed two terms as a commissioner for the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.

Dr. Keegan earned a doctorate from the University of Washington, a master’s degree from Western Washington University, a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Puget Sound, and an associate’s degree from Skagit Valley College.
